We have switched from a "normal" microneedling treatment to the "SkinPen". We have several reasons for this. Firstly, because we want to achieve the best results. But also because we want to work safely with equipment approved with a CE certificate. At the moment, only the SkinPen can claim this. Is the microneedling treatment suitable for every skin type?
The microneedling treatment is intensive and not suitable for every skin type. Therefore, we always start a microneedling course with a detailed intake. The skin specialist then assesses whether your skin type is suitable for microneedling treatment with the SkinPen and how often the course will be performed.
What is microneedling?
With the SkinPen, we create micro-perforations in the skin, up to 1600 per second. This challenges the skin to repair itself and produce collagen. The effect of the micro-perforations is accelerated cell division, which gives the skin a new layer. Microneedling can reduce skin problems such as acne, large pores, rosacea, pigmentation, and fine lines.
What can I expect from the microneedling treatment?
When we treat skin problems such as pigmentation or acne, the skin may turn red and feel warm. Treating scars and fine lines may result in tiny pinpoint bleeding. The skin is immediately soothed with a cooling gel after the SkinPen treatment, allowing for immediate recovery. After the first microneedling treatment, your skin may peel a little, and you can remove small flakes with a mild scrub. Improvement of the skin can be seen from the first treatment, which becomes increasingly clear with each treatment.
During the first treatment, before photos are taken so we can monitor the improvement process. The skin specialist will inform you about the treatment beforehand. The skin is cleansed, and impurities are removed.
Is microneedling painful?

How many treatments do I need?
The best results are achieved with 3 to 6 treatments. However, this also depends on the skin problem and the skincare routine you use at home. For a microneedling treatment, we schedule a consultation beforehand so that we can give you appropriate advice.
In most cases, we treat the skin every four weeks. Depending on your skin type, the skin specialist may also recommend a six-week interval. This is based on the desired result and the condition of the skin.
Can I use my own products during the treatment?
No, during the treatment, you put your own products aside. You only use the "aftercare kit" recommended by the skin specialist and the supplied kit with gel and serum. You will receive this kit at your first treatment. A microneedling treatment is very intensive. We will be putting your skin to work, and the right support and aftercare are necessary.
